Join and co-host Sami Winc to examine the week’s news: anti-Semitic attack in Boulder, Colorado, protestors turn on ICE agents, drones hit Russia, Olympic “woman” boxer Khalib is male, Chinese nationals with dangerous fungus, 56.3% of liberal women with mental health issues, and Karine Jean-Pierre shirks Democratic party.
Rereading Coulter’s ‘Adios America’ and watching a cspan talk about it from Orange County 2015 hosted by Ben Shapiro. Seems quaint compared to how far we’ve sunk.. prophetess.. you should interview her. ●
● When democrats get elected, people die, and when they don’t get elected, they create situations where people get murdered.
Always a pleasure listening to your podcast. You are both a delight to watch ! Praying for your successful surgery and complete recovery.
I think “Islamic believers” are more commonly called Muslims, Sami.
Victor,
Always enjoy listening to stories about your dad. He sounds like a man who was never afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what is right.
I had to take a sociology class as an entry requirement to the community college nursing program I attended. It was taught by warm friendly Burmese American who was radically left and stridently anti-American. Instead of marveling at the assimilation and the American Melting Pot, the basic theme of the class was genocidal racism committed by white Europeans. From Columbus to Jamestown to the Founding Fathers to the Civil War and, finally, to the Greatest Generation our teacher railed against America and our ancestors.
One day after guilting us over the Japanese Internment camps he segued into Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
“Japan was beaten country. We didn’t need to drop the Atomic Bomb. ”
He then went into grisly detail about the effects of radiation sickness and devastation of the blasts. He finished by asking us this question:
“We never dropped the bomb on the Germans. Why do you think that was? Because the Germans looked like us and the Japanese didn’t.”
I raised my hand and politely informed him that the Germans surrendered on 8th May 1945. Trinity, the world’s first atomic bomb detonation happened 16th July 1945. We didn’t have an atomic bomb to drop on the Germans, who I might add had their cities razed to the ground by Allied bombers. ”
He was quite perturbed by my comment. And I couldn’t have cared leas.
I enjoyed Victor’s anecdote about his father and the Japanese woman. It reminded me of the different viewpoint of another Japanese person. In my grammar school years, I studied judo. The highest ranking person in the US was Dr.Sachio Ashida, who was also a psychology professor at a nearby university, and taught judo (he graded one of my belt exams). On one of the anniversaries of the bombing of Hiroshima, he recounted that during WW2, he had been a pilot for the Imperial Japanese Airforce. On the afternoon of August 6, he and his commander flew to the outskirts of Hiroshima to ascertain the damage done by the bomb. He said it was devastating, but looking back at it thirty years later, he knew that if the Japanese had developed the bomb before we did, they wouldn’t have stopped after two U.S. cities. Even though he was a low ranked pilot, the higher ups would talk in front of him, so he knew some of their long range plans. He also said that the Japanese people would have kept fighting to the last person. He believed that the U.S. was correct in dropping the two bombs, and that more lives were saved, on both sides, by those actions.
Great show and summary of the Ukrainian, Poland and Russia history. Thank you. But why do you never talk about how Putin begged NATO to stop expanding to the east for years? Or the horrific Maiden Massacre in Ukraine in 2014, and the role of Victoria Nuland/United States in that regime change? Also, all the evidence of Neo-Nazi’s in Ukraine (you can look up old news reports/documentaries pre-war and current pictures of Ukrainian soldiers tattooed with Nazi symbols, giving the salute)? Also, how NATO/Boris Johnson stopped the peace deal in 2022 between Ukraine and Russia? Or how Joe Biden keeping the war going and all the radicals traveling to Ukraine over these war years such as Janet Yellen, Randi Weingarten, etc? How NATO countries would never stand for Russian encroachment on their countries but on the flip side, Russia cannot feel the same? I do not know who is right and wrong in this piece of world history, but as a historian, I think it is complicated and you should include all sides of this history. I wish you a speedy recovery post surgery. Please do give yourself time to convalesce.
