In this episode, Victor Davis Hanson and co-host Jack Fowler talk about a range of pressing political issues, including the decline of political integrity exemplified by figures like Chuck Schumer, the alarming rise of trans activism in Colorado, and the implications of the Jussie Smollett incident. They also explore the state of American cities under leftist governance, and the importance of restoring scientific standards.
“everybody knows in Chicago in a liberal black neighborhood at 2:30 in the morning there’s a lot of white MAGA people hunting down poor black actors”
Nit pick: it was actually in downtown Chicago–just two streets east of Michigan Avenue and one street north of the Chicago River.
(That is, of course, irrelevant to the general lack of MAGA people in the city–especially at 2AM when the temperature is about 15 degrees below zero.)
Part Two:
The book, The Blueprint spells out in great detail just how these four planned to flip the politics in Colorado from solid red to purple initially only to make it bright blue soon there after. They succeeded 100%. As you said in this podcast VDH Colorado likely will never return to a red state much less even purple in the next several lifetimes. It’s just gone.
Having said that, this book, The Blueprint has been wildly appropriated by leftists in surrounding states. New Mexico was already headed that way but this book helped push them all the way over. Arizona’s political hard left is currently utilizing this book to continue their expansion. It’s being used in Texas to this day. It will be harder in Texas but it can be flipped as well.
This subject is near and dear to me so thanks for letting me spew………..and as always VDH…….your podcasts are invaluable. Thank for all you do.
Part One
Great exposure on Colorado VDH and all spot on. Let me expand a bit on just how CO turned bright blue beyond just the influence Cali and west coast transplants (of which I was one in 1993). Hyper wealthy Colorado liberals (and bear no ill will to wealthy people) created a plan, a plan spelled out in a book titled The Blueprint. The aptly named “Gang of Four” wealthy liberals were:
1.) Tim Gill – A 6 figure multi millionaire who gained his wealth through the early days of the internet. His political aspirations have been fueled by his outspoken gay like style.
2.) Pat Stryker – she of the lucky “gene pool” and an heiress to the Stryker Medical implements fortune. Her wealth comes from replacement hip and knee joints.
3.) Rutt Bridges – he a successful petroleum geologist (tight friend of Hinkenlooper who came from the same industry) who was granted many stock options in the heyday of western oil exploration. Though he does not have the level of wealth of the other gang members, he has well north of $150 Million.
Jared Polis – we all know him. Current and self professed gay governor. He made his fortune in the internet’s early days too. His launch came from an early electronic birthday/holiday card business that I believe his parents started. Polis got his start in Colorado politics by spending $1,000,000 of his own money to a campaign to run for a seat on the Colorado Board of Education. A supposedly non-partisan no pay part time governance board.
Dear VDH
I just wanted to drop you a quick line because I so much enjoy your Podcasts.
I am the fellow who wrote you “don’t die’ a few weeks ago.
I really wish your Podcasts were Mandatory watching each morning at high schools for Juniors and Seniors. What a great way that would be to initiate debates for young people. Watch the Podcast and then have a conversation/debate for just 50 minutes each time. It would open the minds of our young people and hopefully get them to research and learn more on their own.
I tend to look up 2 or 3 things after each podcast and it helps me explore topics I simply had not considered.
I personally do not consider you conservative or liberal, certainly not lost in progressive land LOL. Just a commonsense fellow.
Your information is so well balanced I believe it would be accepted in High Schools. Your a darn Professor everyone should listen and take what they find useful.
Thanks for having so much common sense, you are the Brother I never had.
Respectfully,
Chris L.
